Appearance on Mark Tremonti’s The Sound and The Story

Mark Tremonti and I began playing guitar together when he was still in Creed around 2002. I was playing venues as large as “The Superdome” as a hired guitarist at the time and had released an instrumental album in 2000. Music was exploding in Orlando at the time with Creed being there at the forefront. We both happened to be sponsored by Morley Pedals and worked out at the same gym where we eventually got to know each other. Mark and I got together to jam after a Creed tour was canceled and he had some unexpected down time. I was using many of the same licks and techniques that I use today, that were much less common in popular music at the time. Mark appreciated that I was so versed in shred history and we began playing together quite often. Mark has been very generous with helping get my name out to guitar fans ever since. He mentioned to me quite a while ago that he wanted to do an instructional video and would invite some of his guitar friends to do guest segments. Some time went by and I didn’t give it much thought that is until he called me and said he was filming it this year! What an honor to be featured and get to share a technique that is very special to me. I have been working on 8 finger playing for over 10 years and to get to give some insight and document some of my ideas is very thrilling. I truly hope that some of the guitarists that buy the DVD will make an attempt to expand their tapping repertoire and expand their interval vocabulary. I really do believe that this will be one of the best instructional DVD’s that has ever been produced and am grateful to be a part of it.
