THE PICKING HAND SCREEN PRINT : 02/15
The Picking Hand in Indigo is a limited-edition series of 15 prints hand silk-screened by artist Daniel Tremonti. Drawing inspiration from the weathered patina and industrial essence of discarded guitar strings, Tremonti breathes new life into his mummified embodiments of music.
Tremonti wraps recycled strings to form the foundations of his illustrations, each one a tribute to the enduring melodies they once produced. These painstakingly crafted models serve as the canvas for his silk-screening process, carried out in small, thoughtful batches.
In each print, the spirit of music finds new expression, intertwining with the rugged beauty of reclaimed materials. The result is a collection that resonates with the soulful essence of music, transformed and immortalized by Tremonti's artistic vision.

THE ARTIST - DANIEL TREMONTI
Daniel Tremonti was born in Detroit and pursued his education in fine and commercial arts at the Center for Creative Studies (CCS) and Pratt Institute. Currently residing in Chicago, Tremonti's upbringing surrounded by musicians and the family meatpacking business in Eastern Market deeply influenced his artistic perspective. He has always been drawn to the inherent beauty found in the authentic wear and tear resulting from hard work and harsh circumstances.
For Tremonti, inspiration manifests in various forms: the weathered loading docks of Eastern Market, band road cases that have traversed the globe, hand-painted signage on a box truck, and the well-worn instruments and tools of various trades. These elements serve as the basis of his creativity, shaping his artistic vision and imbuing his work with a profound sense of authenticity and depth.
